LNG: COST and COMPETITION
Report providing a competitive assessment of the costs, values and participant strengths of prospective expansion and grassroots LNG projects. Analysis includes an overview of LNG trade, history of LNG technology, costs, vendor activity, capital outlays, operating costs, cost of service and prospects for projects in the Pacific Basin and the Atlantic Basin. Projects are characterized with a basis of design through the chain, bill of materials from a database of actual industry procurement costs and explicit accounting for project chain financial structure and fiscal terms. Costs are computed from over ten years of historical data. Developments in costs and contracting are reviewed and special studies address the relation of cost and scale and the impact of fiscal terms on project competitiveness.
